Our Curriculum
Curriculum Statement
We have 5 priorities which are centred around the CHILD.
C - Culture & Community: we want our children to understand the importance of contributing positively to their local and wider communities. We want them to understand the value of different cultures and belief systems, treating everybody respectfully and equally.
H – Healthy Bodies & Minds: we want our children to understand that having a healthy mind and a healthy body are of equal importance, and to see the value in striving to achieve both, enabling them to be in the best possible position to learn.
I – Individual Excellence: we want our children to be able to celebrate their achievements and understand that - regardless of ability and barriers – they can be excellent in their own way.
L – Lifelong Learners: we want our children to be able to take the skills they learn here and apply them to the rest of their lives, with a desire to continue learning.
D – Determination: we want our children to be resilient and understand the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity, be this in education, employment, or personal situations.
The curriculum at Hutton Rudby Primary School is designed to provide a broad and balanced education that is inclusive of the needs of all pupils. We aim to deliver it in a supportive environment, whilst allowing children to develop socially and emotionally in order to achieve their full potential.
